Answered: Would there be any reason why a customer would receive the message " You do not have access to view this site"?

	More information on this and this may apply to other clients using PayPal as well...

	The Zip Code field on the Order Tracking form corresponds to the billing zip code that is present on the order.

	If the order was a PayPal Express order, the billing information is not currently being transmitted to us, therefore we do not have a zip code to associate with the order. This is why the customer would be seeing this error message.

	There is a new feature in the settings under Settings > Options > Payment Options > PayPal Options > Would you like to request billing information from PayPal? This setting would allow PayPal to send us the billing information which we could then associate with the order on our side. Thereby allowing the customer to match and view the Order Tracking information (assuming they enter the exact zip code that PayPal sends back to us for their billing address).

You can break it down by state, but not as far as zipcode in the CV3 admin. You'll need to do something custom.

Answered: Is there anyway to validate a residential address and force FedEx Home Delivery opposed to FedEx Ground?

Unfortunately  No.

The address validation only checks to make sure the address is a valid address. The validation does not distinguish between home or business.

In the settings area of the admin you have the option of setting if you want to deliver to residential and or business only. By selecting both you allow the web service to apply the rate based on the address listing.

Answered: Can shipping options -> dimensional boxes relate to USPS Regional boxes and ship rates?

	Unfortunately those options are not available in CV3 in the web based API program.

The rates are based on box size and the USPS may be able to give you a list of table rates that you can build into a non-web based shipping table on CV3.

Answered: Can we edit a the name of an established shipping table?

You cannot change the name, but there is a fairly simply 'Plan B.'

If you are not using a Shipping API you can simply Add Shipper:

http://www.diigo.com/item/image/3jj48/d7nh

Then Copy Rates from Canada - Mail:

http://www.diigo.com/item/image/3jj48/sta9

(be sure to add you Import Code if you are using import codes)

Save your new shipping method, Adjust the order so it is in the right order, then you can either delete or make the old "Canada Mail" method invisible

Answered: Settings: Choose your ship area: International is currently selected

	Yes, this will make all countries available to your shipping area. You can limit the countries availble for each shipping method in the individual shipping tables. Just go to Settings > Shipping Tables > select the shipping table you would like to restrict. Under "Other Shipper Settings" you can select the countries that can use that shipping method.

Answered: How do I use the preset ship dates and blackout dates?

	Preset Ship Dates:

	This option allows you to set the display of available shipping date options for both general orders and those specific to a special event or holiday. This will appear to the customer when they are checking out and show the specific shipping available in order to receive the items before the special event or holiday.

You may include a shipping calculator on the view cart page by selecting [yes] or [no].

Note: Including the shipping calculator on the view cart page allows customers to see shipping costs prior to check-out and can reduce number of abandoned carts.

You can choose to have shipping from vendor products be calculated separately by choosing the [yes] or [no] option. Note: This option allows you to set up a shipping table from the product vendors location instead of from the location of the web store.

You can select the option of having the shipping group rules use the requested ship date instead of order date when applying shipping groups by selecting [yes] or [no].

You can also select the option of having ship-to addresses validated at the time of check-out by selecting [yes] or [no] at this time. Note: You will need a template upgrade in order to use this option.

	Reference: http://www.commercev3.com/1808/user-manual-settings-options-shipping-options

	Blackout Dates:

	You can now set up Shipping Blackout Dates by heading to “Settings -> Options -> Shipping Options -> Shipping Blackout Dates.” In this new section, you can configure your blackout dates in the same manner as the Preset Ship Dates.

	The dates specified as blackout dates will not be valid ship date options during checkout. Customers will be given a message stating that the date is unavailable if they attempt to use a blacked out date.

	For advanced usage, the blackout dates are available to the same templates that the ship on dates are available to. Developers can use the {array_debug} function to see the new array, called “$blackout_dates.” This array can be used for disabling dates on a calender, or many other scenarios.

Answered: Is there a way to offer 2nd day shipping for items that are in stock only?

	I believe you could do this in the checkout template. You'd have to determine what 'In Stock' means (stock status, discontinued, in stock, etc). I haven't tested, but something along these lines:

	{assign var="allinstock" value="1"}

	{foreach from=$cart item=prod}

	  {if $prod.stock_status != 'In Stock'}

	    {assign var="allinstock" value="0"}

	  {/if}

	{/foreach}

	<div>

	  <label for='s_method{$num}'>Shipping Method:</label>

	  <select name="s_method{$num}" id="s_method{$num}">

	    {foreach from=$options.shipping.method item=method}

	    {if $allinstock != 1 && $method == 'UPS 2nd Day Air'}

	      {* DON'T SHOW *}

	    {else}

	    <option label="{$method}" value="{$method}"{if $valid.s_method.$num == $method} selected{/if}>{$method}</option>

	    {/if}

	    {/foreach}

Answered: How hard is it to use discounted UPS Retail Rates for shipping?

	It depends on how you are trying to implement that. Could you provide some more details on how you want to do this?

	If you're trying to use the actual discounted UPS rates associated with your own UPS account, that is very complicated to set up. There isn't a way to use that account info at this time in CV3, so you would have to estimate the discounts by marking up or down by % in the shipping tables. Even doing that, the rates are not exact.

	I think that most stores are using the automated rate tools under Settings > Options > Shipping Options, or some sort of shipping API that they had us write.

Answered: What do I need to do to update my FedEx API before the end of May 2012?

The newest version of the FedEx API is live and usable by all customers.

In order to make the change from version 1 to version 2 you will be required to contact Federal Express and request a FedEx Key and a FedEx Password.

The changes will be made in the admin section of CV3.

Settings> Options> Shipping Options> FedX Automatic Rate Calculation Tool

You will need to select the radio button version 2 and a new area will expand that allows you to enter the FedEx Key and FedEx Password provided by FedEx.

After the key and password have been entered you will need to save the changes.

This will make the new API active for your site.

Please contact support if you have any problems with the change to FedEx API version 2.

Some Order Management Systems upload that data, but if the system you use doesn't have that functionality, you can always import the data for updating order statuses. See the related Q&A for more info:
Answered: Shipping multiple cold items - best way to set up checkout

This seems like it is specific to your store. I looked at your set up, and it seems like it is set to take the weight of the mutliple cold items and it gets the shipping rates from FedEx automatically, which isn't something that we can really control in CV3. If you'd like someone to go over your shipping set up, please contact support@commercev3.com

Answered: Special shipping surcharge on international orders

This really depends on how you currently have your Shipping Tables/Groups set up. What store is this? I'm thinking that you could just use a Shipping Group to select the products and add another flat fee.

Answered: Does Monsoon Stone Edge have the capability to do a feed to upload tracking numbers?

Order Tracking Updates from Monsoon StoneEdge:

There is a setting in StoneEdge called “UseGenericStatusUpdates” that will send status info (with tracking numbers if applicable) during certain events as you process orders.

The event in question is “Order Add Tracking Number” and occasionally “Item Set Actual Ship Date”.

You’ll want some sort of status enabled here as well as the “Notify Cart” button checked for the system to work.

You’ll want whatever status is set here to be *different* from the order’s typical status before processing tracking numbers so a status *change* is indicated and processed by the program appropriately.

Typical example would be an order is approved and the order/item statuses are set to “Pending Shipment”.

Process tracking numbers is called and checks the order/item status against what it should be when processing concludes (say, “Shipped”) and sees a change is necessary.

The event system fires off an update to the website while updating the orders and items in question during processing.

Answered: In shipping tables what does the default shipper designation do for the shipping table?

The default shipping designation signifies the shipping table that cannot be deleted in your store. The default setting does not effect the order in which they appear in the site or the checkout page on your site.

In order to change the shipping table that appears first in your checkout shipping options you would need to move the shipping table you want to appear first to the bottom of the shipping table list.

The shipping table list is in order opposite of the way it appears on the site. The top ranked shipping table will appear at the bottom of the selection box for your checkout shipping options.

Yes, it depends on the specifics of your promotion, but it can be set up in Customer Groups. Here is an example of setting up a group:
Answered: What is the major differences between shipping tables and shipping groups?

Shipping tables are the basic shipping methods used by your site to set pricing based on shipping vendor, shipping location, product requirements and additional handling charges. The shipping tables can be filtered by product weight, product count and order amount.

Additional filtering can be done by ship to state, country, and exclusion of specific products if the shipping templates have been upgraded for your site.

You can create shipping tables to go along with specific promotions on your site and to change shipping requirements for specific times of year. The shipping tables can be set to be visible to your customers or hidden from your customers so that not all of the tables are available for your customers to choose from.

You have the opportunity to change the order of the shipping tables so that they will appear to your customers in the order you choose. The recommendation is that you will list the shipping tables with the most expensive or highest shipping at the top and the least expensive or lowest shipping table at the bottom. The order they appear to the customer is reversed from the order appearing in the shipping table list.

The reason the shipping table order is suggested to be set up this way is to allow you to upgrade or force the upgrade of shipping method on the site. If the highest shipping table is not listed at the top then you will be upgrading possibly to a lower shipping table.

Shipping Groups are available for you to narrow down the options for shipping on your site by date range, product groups, customer groups and state and country. Shipping groups were created in CV3 before some of the current functionality was available under shipping tables.

Shipping groups are able to pinpoint specific shippers for special needs of the customer on your site.

Shipping groups can be used to specify shipping tables for a product or products and can allow you to upgrade shipping table selections to higher level shipping. An example would be shipping chocolate across the country during the hot summer months. You may wish to require that all chocolate products during specific date ranges are shipped next day shipping every time so that the product arrives in the best possible shape.

The options for state and country are available to restrict or limit shipping to specific areas. You may have a product or list of products that cannot be shipped to a specific country or state. Using the shipping groups you can limit the shipping destination for these products.

Unfortunately you may limit sales of items to your customers if they have items in the cart that can ship to specific destinations (state or country) and items that are excluded. The shipping groups will not allow an address excluded in the group from receiving shipments with excluded items. An error may be posted or the item may be removed from the cart if it is not allowed under the shipping group.

Be sure to test any shipping groups or new shipping tables in your staging area. Contact support at CV3 if you have a specific problem with the shipping tables or groups.
