PayPal vs. PayPal Express Checkout?

What is the difference between PayPal & PayPal Express checkout? Which is preferred/recommended? Any difference in info gathered about customer?

Normal PayPal is just another payment method that can be used during the checkout process. PayPal Express is it's own checkout - the customer leaves the site and checks out on PayPal and is redirected back afterwards. There isn't one preferred method, but you can opt to not capture billing info, if you wanted.
